Damascus Road Ministries Update…

After much prayer and discussion, I have come to the decision to suspend the operation of Damascus Road Ministries‘ camps and conferences. My decision is based largely in part to my role as Executive & Worship Pastor at Washington Avenue Church. The ministries of DRM require a great deal of time to plan and promote and I am impressed that the work God has called me to as a pastor must supersede the work we were doing through Damascus.

I am completely at peace with this decision, though I am saddened when I think of the people we will not see as regularly. God purposed this from the start. DRM has been an incredible experience and I rejoice when I think of all the people I will see in Heaven who met Jesus at one of DRM’s camps or events.

I do not have the words to express what your prayers and support mean to me and my family. I ask you to continue to remember us now as we constantly seek to live life totally surrendered to His call and His work.

    Chris,
I am glad that you are serving on a Church staff though at the same time I find the suspension of the work of Damascus Road Ministries to be sad. We all must seek God’s will in our decisions. I realize that this hasn’t been an easy decision for you to make. I pray that you will continue to serve God faithfully in all that you do. I also pray that God will use all of the trials you have gone through to help others in their walk with Him. I believe that in our Christian lives that just as Jesus took the 5 loaves and 2 fish and blessed them and then broke them to feed over 5,000 people (the Biblical account specifies that the number 5,000 does not include women and children who were also fed by this miracle) so He also blesses us and then breaks us so that we can be used to minister to the needs of others. Thank you also for what you have done to help one of our friends to get back on his feet during a very trying time in his life. I really enjoyed the DRM worship rallies. I would ask that you remember me in prayer as I seek to find the purpose which God has for my life. Our friend Charlie says that he believes that writing is my ministry, and it is something I enjoy and which others seem to think I have a real gift for. May God cause all grace to abound to you always and in all ways.
    Your Brother In Christ,
