This would be funny if it didn’t hurt so bad!

OK!  I have been completely out of the loop for several days now.  I was out of town speaking at a youth camp last week and we were in the middle of nowhere so I had no cell phone…no internet access…no email…no blogging…and no twittering!  I know – it’s hard to imagine!

I met some great connections, including this guy (Jon Ludovina), who is the teaching pastor at Midtown Fellowship in Columbia, SC.  These guys are in the midst of a true missional work in the heart of a college town – and they are busy spreading the name of Jesus all over that city.

I got to know Jon in an up close and personal way that I didn’t really want to know him when we had a terrifying, though athletically superb, collision during a surprisingly physical game of kickball!  During this highly specialized maneuver, my knee found itself lodged in Jon’s hind parts as I attempted to leap over him.  Jon’s hind parts apparently took offense to this as they promptly hurled me head over heels in a downward direction where my rib cage came to an abrupt stop when it met his elbow!

I went to the doctor today and I broke a few ribs and it looks like I have a few weeks for recovery.  On top of that, I have had some kind of allergic reaction to something and my body is covered with some hideous bilateral rash that seems to feed on air or water or some other commonly occurring element in our atmosphere.

So…I’m on steroids, pain meds, ibuprofen, benadryl, and I am so far behind that I doubt I’ll ever get caught up.  Like I said, this would be funny if it didn’t hurt so bad!
